Abu Dhabi Art Fair 2024 Inaugurated by H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan
Abu Dhabi, November 20 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs, inaugurated the 16th edition of Abu Dhabi Art, held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
Organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), this year’s edition is the largest in the event’s history, featuring 102 galleries from 31 countries and showcasing over 1,500 artworks. The fair, hosted at Manarat Al Saadiyat until November 24, has welcomed 42 new galleries, including first-time participants from Qatar, Kuwait, and Kazakhstan.
A Platform for Artistic Exchange
During his tour of the event, H.H. Sheikh Theyab explored a range of galleries and pavilions, engaging with artworks and creatives from around the world. He highlighted the fair’s role in enriching the UAE’s artistic landscape and fostering cultural dialogue, noting its importance in advancing the art movement locally and globally.
“Abu Dhabi Art Fair has evolved into a key cultural event that highlights the depth of Emirati artistic heritage while strengthening cross-cultural ties,” H.H. Sheikh Theyab said. He praised the fair’s ability to position Abu Dhabi as a global hub for culture and creativity, inspiring artists and audiences alike.
Emirati Talent in the Spotlight
This year, Emirati artist Mohamed Kazem was honored as the fair’s Visual Campaign Artist, a recognition of his significant contributions to the UAE’s art scene. His work reflects the fair’s commitment to supporting local talent while engaging in global artistic discourse.
Cultural Leadership and Global Influence
Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of DCT Abu Dhabi, underscored the fair’s importance in promoting Abu Dhabi as a cultural epicenter. “Abu Dhabi Art connects the emirate to a global dialogue, fostering creativity and expression while supporting a thriving creative industry,” he said.
