Dubai, February 13, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Al Budaiwi, firmly rejected any proposals to transfer or displace the people of Gaza, calling them unacceptable to Palestinians, Arab states, and the international community.

Their remarks were made during the "State of the Arab World" session at the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2025, currently taking place in Dubai under the theme "Shaping Future Governments."

Reaffirming the Arab Position

Aboul Gheit warned of the dangers posed by continued pressure from former U.S. President Donald Trump to displace Palestinians, stressing that such actions could ignite further instability in the Middle East and obstruct diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a two-state solution.

He emphasized that the Arab Peace Initiative, which advocates for a Palestinian state in exchange for peace with Israel, will be reintroduced at the upcoming emergency Arab summit in Cairo on February 27.

"Relocating Gaza’s population is not only an injustice to the Palestinian people but also a denial of their legitimate right to their land and self-determination," said Aboul Gheit. He underlined that Arab states have rejected displacement for nearly a century and will continue to oppose it in all forms.

Aboul Gheit further stressed that the Arab world is prepared to rebuild Gaza in partnership with the international community without forcing its people to leave their homeland. He outlined a multi-phase reconstruction plan to be implemented over several years.

GCC Secretary-General: "Trump Deal for Gaza Is Unacceptable"

GCC Secretary-General Jasem Al Budaiwi echoed these sentiments, reiterating the categorical rejection of any forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza.

"The term ‘deal’ is not new to Trump, but the core principles of the Palestinian issue, especially the right to establish a Palestinian state, remain steadfast," Al Budaiwi stated.

He called for the reintroduction of the Arab Peace Initiative and emphasized the need for mobilizing Western support for a diplomatic resolution.

While acknowledging the importance of Gulf-American relations, Al Budaiwi underscored that no solution can be imposed by force. He urged Arab nations to remain unified in their response to such proposals.

World Governments Summit 2025: A Global Platform for Future Governance

The World Governments Summit 2025, running until February 13 in Dubai, has brought together more than 30 heads of state and government, 80 international organizations, and 140 government delegations.

The summit’s agenda features:

  • 21 global forums addressing future trends and governance transformations.

  • Over 200 interactive sessions led by 300 high-profile speakers, including presidents, ministers, and leading experts.

  • 30 ministerial meetings and roundtables attended by more than 400 ministers.

  • 30 strategic reports published in partnership with international knowledge institutions.

With its strong stance on the Palestinian issue, the Arab League and GCC’s participation in WGS 2025 signals a continued commitment to regional stability, international law, and a just resolution for Palestine.
