Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan to Showcase Cultural Heritage at Al Suwaidi Festival in Riyadh

Riyadh, October 7, 2024 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Three South Asian countries – Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan – will participate in this year’s Al Suwaidi Festival in Riyadh, set to launch on October 12 and run for 45 days. Part of the larger Riyadh Season, the festival is expected to draw global attention as one of the premier winter entertainment events.

The General Entertainment Authority, organizers of Riyadh Season, announced that this year’s festival will celebrate the essence of Saudi Arabia’s rich Najdi heritage while also showcasing its modern vibrancy. Established as part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative, the Authority aims to promote economic, social, and cultural diversification through large-scale events such as Riyadh Season.

The Al Suwaidi Festival will be held in Al Suwaidi Park, a spacious venue located in Riyadh’s Al Suwaidi residential area. India’s participation will feature a range of cultural activities, including musical performances, classical dances, entertainment shows, traditional bazaars, and culinary experiences, according to the Indian embassy in Riyadh. Bangladesh and Pakistan will also present their unique cultural offerings, adding to the festival’s diverse lineup.

The festival aims to highlight the cultural ties between Saudi Arabia and the participating South Asian nations, providing a platform for visitors to experience traditional art, music, and cuisine from the region, while celebrating the winter season in Saudi Arabia’s capital.
