Tabuk, April 19 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Farms across the Tabuk Region have witnessed the blooming of more than 90,000 citrus trees this April, flourishing across over 8,000 dunums and yielding a wide range of fruits including oranges, lemons, tangerines, kumquats, and other citrus varieties distinctive to the region.

Known for its fertile soil and favorable climate, Tabuk continues to assert its role as one of the Kingdom’s leading agricultural hubs. With more than 14,500 farms spanning over 270,000 hectares, the region has become a model for agricultural diversification and sustainability. Government support and modern infrastructure have enabled the expansion of various crops and encouraged the adoption of innovative agricultural practices.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, Eng. Amjad bin Abdullah Thallab, Director General of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture's branch in Tabuk, highlighted the region’s considerable agricultural potential. He noted that citrus farming has become one of the top priorities in Tabuk’s farming sector due to its adaptability and commercial viability.

Thallab emphasized the ministry’s commitment to empowering local farmers by offering financial assistance, modern agricultural equipment, and specialized training programs to enhance productivity and ensure the adoption of sustainable farming techniques.

He further underlined that the region’s agricultural development aligns closely with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly in the areas of food security, rural development, and environmental sustainability. The continued growth of citrus cultivation in Tabuk reflects broader national efforts to develop self-sufficiency in agricultural production while contributing to the Kingdom’s balanced economic growth across all regions.
