Crown Prince Chairs Cabinet Session in Jeddah, Reviews Saudi-Indian Relations and Progress on Vision 2030 Goals

Jeddah, April 29, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the Cabinet session held today in Jeddah.
During the meeting, His Royal Highness briefed the Cabinet on his recent discussions with His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and his meeting with His Excellency Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of the Republic of India. The Cabinet commended the positive outcomes of the second meeting of the Saudi-Indian Strategic Partnership Council, highlighting the strengthening of economic, trade, and investment relations between the two nations, as well as joint efforts to deepen cooperation across multiple sectors.
Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary stated to the Saudi Press Agency that the Cabinet reviewed the Kingdom’s active participation in regional and international forums, reaffirming Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting collaborative initiatives aimed at addressing global challenges and promoting international stability and prosperity.
The Cabinet emphasized that achieving security in the Middle East requires the swift implementation of a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative. It reiterated the Kingdom’s call for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
In discussing regional affairs, the Cabinet reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to supporting the economic recovery of the Syrian Arab Republic. It urged regional and international financial institutions to resume and expand their operations in Syria, assisting the Syrian people in achieving better living standards and a brighter future.
Domestically, the Cabinet expressed appreciation for the dedication of government agencies in advancing the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 as the national strategy approaches its ninth year. It welcomed the findings of the Vision 2030 Annual Report 2024, which indicated that 93 percent of the targets set across national programs and strategies have been met or exceeded. The Cabinet expressed optimism for sustained progress and leadership across all sectors.
The Cabinet also discussed the third phase of Saudi Vision 2030, scheduled to commence in 2026. This phase will focus on maintaining the transformative impact achieved thus far, leveraging emerging opportunities, enhancing existing initiatives, and aligning future programs to further drive economic diversification and growth.
In its session, the Cabinet acknowledged the outcomes of the recent Saudi Statistics Forum held in Riyadh, celebrating the 65th anniversary of statistical work in the Kingdom. The Cabinet praised the sector’s notable advancements in international indicators and its key role in supporting sustainable development and improving economic and social services.
Furthermore, the Cabinet expressed gratitude for the generous SAR 1 billion donation made by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince to the National Development Housing Foundation. The contribution reflects His Royal Highness’s unwavering commitment to supporting housing initiatives and providing suitable homes for deserving families throughout the Kingdom.
The Cabinet reviewed and approved several decisions, including:
Approval of a Host Country Agreement with the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) to establish a regional INTERPOL office for the Middle East and North Africa in the Kingdom.
Approval of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation in city management and operations between the Riyadh Municipality and the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
Approval of an MoU for cooperation in mineral resources between the Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and the Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
Approval of an MoU on tourism between the Saudi Ministry of Tourism and the Zambian Ministry of Tourism.
Approval of a draft MoU on economic research and studies between the Saudi Ministry of Economy and Planning and the Indian Observer Research Foundation, and authorization for the minister or a deputy to sign it.
Approval of an MoU for cooperation in developing the small and medium enterprises sector and startups between the Saudi Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority and the Bahraini Labor Fund.
Approval of an MoU for cooperation in tax administration between the Saudi Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority and the Moroccan General Directorate of Taxes.
Approval of an agreement for mutual recognition of Authorized Economic Operator programs between the Saudi Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority and the Egyptian Customs Authority.
Approval of an MoU between the Saudi Communications, Space, and Technology Commission and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.
Approval of an MoU for cooperation in digital government between the Saudi Digital Government Authority and the Moroccan Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform.
Approval of an MoU for cooperation in meteorology between the Saudi National Center for Meteorology and the China Meteorological Administration.
Approval of an MoU in the field of archiving and records management between the Saudi National Center for Archives and Records and the National Archives of Indonesia.
The Cabinet concluded its session by addressing other items on its agenda and issuing the appropriate decisions.
