Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Chairs Cabinet Session in Jeddah, Reviews Regional and International Developments

JEDDAH, March 19 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the Cabinet session held on Tuesday in Jeddah, where the Kingdom’s latest diplomatic engagements, regional stability, and domestic advancements were reviewed.

During the session, HRH the Crown Prince briefed the Cabinet on the outcomes of his recent telephone discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The Cabinet reiterated Saudi Arabia’s steadfast positions on key international matters and affirmed its ongoing commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at fostering regional and global security and stability.

The Cabinet condemned the renewed attacks by Israeli occupation forces on the Gaza Strip, calling on the international community to act swiftly to stop the aggression and alleviate the humanitarian crisis facing the Palestinian people.

Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary, in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), said the Cabinet welcomed the conclusion of peace negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as the border demarcation agreement between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, expressing hopes for sustained progress and prosperity for those nations.

Domestically, the Cabinet praised the launch of the Saudi Architecture Characters Map, a project highlighting 19 architectural styles representing the Kingdom’s geographical and cultural diversity. The initiative aims to preserve urban heritage and contribute to improving the quality of life and urban development in line with Vision 2030 goals.

The Cabinet also reviewed indicators of the national economy’s performance, noting credit rating upgrades from international agencies, and reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to structural reforms and economic diversification.

The Cabinet expressed appreciation for international cooperation in combating drug smuggling networks and commended the Iraqi Ministry of Interior for intercepting an attempt to smuggle 7 million amphetamine pills, following intelligence provided by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior.

The Cabinet issued several decisions, including authorizations for new agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with international partners. Key approvals included:

An MoU between Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior and Egypt’s Ministry of Interior focusing on scientific, training, and research activities.
A cultural cooperation MoU between the Saudi Ministry of Culture and Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology.
An MoU for economic cooperation between the Saudi Ministry of Economy and Planning and the Ministry of Economy, Industry, and Investment of the Union of the Comoros.
An MoU between the Saudi Real Estate General Authority and Qatar’s Real Estate Regulatory Authority.
An agreement with Iceland to avoid double taxation on income taxes and prevent tax evasion.
An agreement with Pakistan on customs cooperation and mutual assistance.
Air transport agreements with Suriname and Lithuania.
An MoU between the Saudi General Authority for Statistics and UNICEF’s Gulf Area Office for collaboration on Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys.
An MoU between the Education and Training Evaluation Commission (ETEC) and Mauritania’s Ministry of Education for the development of assessment and accreditation tools.
An MoU on technical and vocational training between Saudi Arabia’s Technical and Vocational Training Corporation and Pakistan’s National Vocational and Technical Training Commission.
Authorization for the Saudi Institute of Internal Auditors to sign an MoU with the Malaysian Institute of Internal Auditors focusing on governance and compliance cooperation.
