Riyadh, October 22, 2024 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh today.


During the meeting, the Crown Prince warmly welcomed King Abdullah to Saudi Arabia, expressing his appreciation for the strong ties between the two nations. King Abdullah, in turn, extended his gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality extended to him and his delegation.


HRH the Crown Prince conveyed greetings from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to King Abdullah, who reciprocated by sending his greetings to King Salman.


The leaders discussed the deep-rooted brotherly relations between Saudi Arabia and Jordan, emphasizing their commitment to strengthening cooperation across various fields. They also addressed pressing issues concerning the Arab and Islamic worlds, particularly developments in the Middle East. The talks focused on efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon, and the need to de-escalate tensions in the region to ensure stability.


Both leaders reaffirmed their unwavering support for the people of Palestine and Lebanon and stressed the importance of providing uninterrupted humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the conflicts.


Several senior officials from both sides attended the meeting. On the Saudi side, attendees included Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of State Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, and Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz.


Representing Jordan were Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi, Director of the King's Office Eng. Alaa Batayneh, and Jordan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Haitham Abu Alfoul.


The meeting underscored the strong bond between Saudi Arabia and Jordan, as both countries work together to address regional security and humanitarian challenges.
