Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Welcomes Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis in AlUla
AlUla, January 13, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, hosted Hellenic Republic Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the Winter Camp in AlUla on Monday. The meeting underscored the deepening ties and strategic cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Greece.
Upon arrival, Prime Minister Mitsotakis was greeted by Saudi princes and ministers with warm handshakes, followed by a traditional Saudi folklore performance by folk-dance troupes. This cultural display, typically reserved for official occasions, set the tone for the prime minister’s introduction to Saudi Arabia's rich heritage.
At the start of the reception, HRH the Crown Prince extended a warm welcome to the Greek leader, who expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm for visiting the Kingdom. The leaders later convened at the Bayt al-Sha'ar, where the prime minister experienced authentic Saudi culture.
During their discussions, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations and explored opportunities to enhance cooperation across various sectors. They also exchanged views on regional and international developments and the ongoing efforts to address mutual challenges.
The reception was attended by prominent Saudi officials, including Governor of the Madinah Region Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz; Minister of National Guard Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz; Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah; and Public Investment Fund (PIF) Governor Yasir Othman Al-Rumayyan. Senior Greek officials, including Minister of Foreign Affairs George Gerapetritis and Minister of National Defense Nikolaos Dendias, also participated, highlighting the breadth of the delegation.
Following the reception, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mitsotakis co-chaired the Saudi-Greek Strategic Partnership Council. The meeting reviewed critical topics on the council’s agenda, reflecting the countries’ shared commitment to strengthening their strategic partnership.
The session concluded with the signing of the minutes of the council meeting by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mitsotakis. This milestone reaffirms the commitment of both nations to advancing bilateral relations and fostering sustainable development in line with shared priorities.
