Death Toll from Shahid Rajaee Port Explosion in Iran Rises to 40

Riyadh, April 27 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Iranian authorities announced today that the death toll from the massive explosion and subsequent fire at Shahid Rajaee port in Hormozgan Province has risen to at least 40, with the number of injured exceeding 1,000.

Mohammad Ashouri, governor of Hormozgan, where Bandar Abbas serves as the provincial capital, confirmed the updated figures. "More than a thousand people were injured in the incident, of which 194 are currently hospitalized and the rest have been discharged after receiving treatment," he said, as quoted by Mehr News Agency.

Governor Ashouri added that identification efforts are ongoing for victims who suffered severe burns. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the blast as recovery operations progress.
