Dior Unveils First Campaign Featuring Lewis Hamilton for New Lifestyle Collection
Riyadh, October 2, 2024 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Dior has released the first campaign images for its highly anticipated lifestyle capsule collection, guest-designed by Lewis Hamilton, marking the Formula 1 champion's debut in a Dior campaign. The collection, created in collaboration with Kim Jones, Dior’s artistic director of menswear, showcases Hamilton’s passion for snowboarding rather than his racing fame.
Shot by Rafael Pavarotti, the campaign features Hamilton posing against a backdrop of vibrant blue mountain ranges, sporting wide-leg pants, oversized shirts, and a red-and-pink ski jacket. The collection incorporates 80% sustainable materials, with designs influenced by African-inspired motifs, a reflection of Hamilton’s and Jones’ shared connection to the African continent.
The collection includes denim, knitwear, sweatshirts, and technical clothing made by Japanese ski apparel-maker Descente, ensuring it's fit for an active lifestyle. Accessories include the Dior8 backpack, the Rider 2.0 messenger bag, and the B44 Blade sneakers, which will retail for €1,200.
Hamilton, a long-time advocate of sustainability and a plant-based diet, requested that no animal leather be used in the collection, emphasizing the importance of sustainability in fashion. “We want to make sure it has impact,” Hamilton said, highlighting his commitment to eco-friendly practices.
The collection will launch in Dior boutiques and online on October 17, following the campaign’s official release on October 14.
