Dubai Customs Unveils AI-Powered “Al Munasiq” to Transform Goods Classification

Riyadh, February 20, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – In alignment with Dubai’s strategy to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) applications, Dubai Customs has launched “Al Munasiq”, an advanced AI-driven platform designed to enhance the classification of goods based on the Harmonized System (HS) Code. The initiative was introduced under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai.
The launch of Al Munasiq marks a significant milestone in modernizing Dubai’s customs operations, improving accuracy, efficiency, and processing speed while ensuring seamless trade facilitation. The initiative reflects Dubai Customs’ commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technologies to enhance customer satisfaction and streamline import-export procedures.
AI-Driven Features for Smarter Trade
The Al Munasiq application offers several advanced search methods to classify goods and retrieve critical information, including product descriptions, customs duty rates, and restriction status. Users can access this data by:
Entering short text descriptions via keyboard or voice input
Uploading an image of the item for AI-based recognition
The platform enhances operational efficiency by maintaining a search history, a favorites list, and the ability to save and share classification results. It also allows users to verify whether specific HS codes fall under free trade agreements between the UAE and other countries.
