Dubai Implements Remote Learning Fridays for Private School Students During Ramadan

Dubai, February 28, 2025 – In line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, private school students in the emirate will have the option of remote learning on Fridays throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The initiative aims to strengthen family bonds during the sacred month, allowing students more flexibility in managing their schedules while maintaining academic continuity.
Flexible Arrangements for Students and Families
The decision applies to all private schools in Dubai, with certain exceptions:
Students with mandatory in-person examinations on Fridays must attend school as scheduled.
Schools are encouraged to accommodate families who prefer in-person learning by allowing students to attend physical classes if needed.
This approach ensures that families have the flexibility to choose what works best for their children while maintaining the integrity of the academic schedule.
Commitment to Supporting Students During Ramadan
The move reflects Dubai’s commitment to student well-being, recognizing the importance of balancing education with cultural and religious traditions. By offering remote learning on Fridays, students will have more time for family gatherings, spiritual activities, and personal reflection while ensuring uninterrupted learning.
Dubai continues to lead in progressive educational policies, prioritizing both academic excellence and social harmony.
