Dubai Retains Top Spot for Cleanliness in Global Power City Index 2025

Dubai, January 20, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Dubai has secured the title of the world’s cleanest city for the fifth consecutive year, according to the latest Global Power City Index (GPCI) report issued by the Institute for Urban Strategies at the Mori Memorial Foundation in Japan. This achievement underscores the emirate’s commitment to sustainable urban development and its position as a benchmark for future cities.
Dubai excelled among 47 global cities, achieving a perfect score in the city cleanliness metric under the environment pillar, a key criterion in evaluating urban strength. This milestone reflects the dedicated efforts of Dubai Municipality, in collaboration with government and private sector partners, to implement innovative strategies aligned with the Dubai Integrated Waste Management Strategy 2041.

Dubai Municipality’s cleanliness teams, comprising over 3,200 monitors, supervisors, and engineers, play a vital role in maintaining world-class standards. Supported by a fleet of 855 advanced vehicles and equipment, the Municipality ensures seamless daily operations across 2,400 kilometers of main roads, 33.4 kilometers of canals, and various residential, industrial, and rural areas.
