Riyadh, October 20, 2024 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Falconry, a tradition deeply rooted in the Arabian Peninsula, continues to thrive as a defining element of the region’s cultural identity. Passed down through generations, this ancient sport has shaped the heritage of the region and inspired countless poetic works.

One such figure is poet and falconer Hasher Al-Otaibi from Al-Lith Governorate in the Makkah Region. Since the 1990s, Al-Otaibi has been captivated by the sport of falconry, finding a deep connection to the tradition through both hunting and his poetic expressions. His works eloquently convey his affection for falcons and the art of falconry, celebrating the sport’s profound significance.

This year’s International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition, recently held in Malham, north of Riyadh, reflected the enduring appeal of this tradition. The event attracted falcon enthusiasts from around the globe, featuring over 400 exhibitors from 45 countries. The exhibition, which has become a global attraction, showcased the sport’s legacy and the passion it continues to inspire across generations and cultures.

Falconry remains a symbol of pride and heritage in the Kingdom, as events like this help preserve the cultural and historical significance of the sport while fostering international engagement in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
