Makkah, March 8, 2025 – Worshippers gathered at the Grand Mosque in Makkah today to perform the first Friday prayer of Ramadan 1446 AH, amidst enhanced services and a serene atmosphere ensuring comfort, security, and ease of worship.
The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, in coordination with all Grand Mosque departments, intensified efforts to accommodate the massive influx of worshippers. From the early hours of the morning, prayer areas, courtyards, and corridors were fully prepared, ensuring smooth entry and exit while enabling worshippers to perform their prayers with devotion and tranquility.
Enhanced Services for Worshippers
To facilitate a seamless experience for the millions visiting the Grand Mosque, a comprehensive system of services was implemented, including:
Multilingual copies of the Holy Quran interpretation to aid diverse visitors.
Instant translation devices for the Friday sermon, ensuring accessibility for non-Arabic speakers.
Enhanced sound, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, ensuring comfort in all prayer areas.
Thousands of regular and electric carts for the elderly and individuals with disabilities, managed through the "Tanaqol" application.
Intensified sterilization and cleaning operations, ensuring the Grand Mosque remains pristine and hygienic.

perational Workforce and Safety Measures
Over 11,000 personnel were deployed to direct worshippers to their designated prayer areas, ensuring smooth crowd management. Additionally, 350 Saudi supervisors oversaw 4,000 workers responsible for cleaning the Grand Mosque five times daily, maintaining hygiene and safety at the highest standards.
The Makkah Municipality also ramped up inspections in high-traffic areas, particularly in the central zone, markets, and neighborhoods surrounding the Grand Mosque, to ensure public health and safety in line with Ramadan preparations.
