Gulf Airlines Adjust Routes Following Iran’s Attack on Israel

Riyadh, October 2, 2024 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Several airlines in the Gulf region have adjusted their flight routes and canceled services in response to the escalating conflict after Iran’s missile attack on Israel. Neighboring countries have closed their airspace, prompting carriers to adopt alternative routes to ensure passenger safety.

 

Etihad Airways, based in Abu Dhabi, announced that it is rerouting several flights on Wednesday due to airspace restrictions across parts of the Middle East. The airline stated it is closely monitoring airspace security updates as the situation unfolds.

 

Emirates Airlines canceled all flights to and from Iraq (Basra and Baghdad), Iran, and Jordan for October 2 and 3. The airline is in ongoing contact with relevant authorities and continues to monitor developments in the region.

 

Qatar Airways has temporarily suspended flights to and from Iraq and Iran, citing airspace closures in the region. The airline is expected to update passengers on further developments as the situation evolves.

 

Flydubai also canceled flights to Jordan, Iraq, Israel, and Iran on October 2 and 3, aligning with temporary airspace closures. The Dubai – based airline issued a statement through Reuters confirming the adjustments.

 

Kuwait Airways said on Tuesday that it has adjusted flight routes for several of its services, leading to changes is scheduled destination times. The airline is ensuring that all rerouted flights prioritize passenger safety.

 

The situation remains fluid as airlines continue to navigate the evolving airspace restrictions across the Middle East in the wake of the escalating conflict.
