House of Wisdom Unveils Assouline Collection, Showcases UAE Heritage with ‘Mleiha’ Publication

Sharjah, November 11 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The House of Wisdom in Sharjah, in the presence of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), has introduced a dedicated Assouline section, celebrating the release of the new book, Mleiha: Ancient Treasures of the UAE. This collaboration between Shurooq and Assouline Publishing aims to provide scholars, students, and visitors with unique access to a curated selection of Assouline’s distinguished publications, highlighting both UAE heritage and global cultural narratives.

The launch of Mleiha: Ancient Treasures of the UAE, part of Assouline’s Classics Collection, explores the historical and archaeological significance of Mleiha, a key site of early civilisation. The book details the region’s ancient legacy, featuring Bronze Age tombs, pre-Islamic forts, and intricate artifacts, presenting Mleiha as a pivotal crossroads of human history.

Speaking at the unveiling, Sheikha Bodour highlighted the House of Wisdom’s mission to foster cultural exchange. “This dedicated Assouline section strengthens the House of Wisdom as a hub for cultural exchange, connecting our shared history with readers’ curiosity. Mleiha: Ancient Treasures of the UAE is a proud reflection of our vision to present the UAE’s past in a dialogue with the world,” she stated.

Prosper Assouline, Founder of Assouline Publishing, expressed pride in the collaboration, noting that the new section allows visitors to embark on a journey through art, history, and culture. “The House of Wisdom stands as a cultural beacon in the region—a vibrant hub for knowledge and intellectual exchange,” he said, adding that each book within the collection invites readers to explore narratives that have shaped the world.

The event, attended by notable guests, including Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairperson of SCTDA, and Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, CEO of Shurooq, marks another milestone for Sharjah’s dedication to heritage preservation and knowledge exchange.
