Iran Warns Countries Involved in Intercepting Missiles Targeting Israel

Riyadh, October 1, 2024 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Iran has issued a stern warning to countries that assisted in intercepting missiles fired at Israel, stating that they "will be held responsible" for their actions. The warning was delivered by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Wednesday, following the interception of Iranian missiles by Jordan, the U.S., and the U.K.

The missile attack, launched by Iran in retaliation for the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut last week, targeted Israel but was thwarted with the help of allied forces. Jordan's military confirmed its role in intercepting the projectiles and announced that all units of its armed forces are now on "high alert" to confront any further threats to the kingdom's security.

"Jordan’s position has always been that it will not be a battleground for anyone. Protecting Jordan and its people is our number one responsibility," said Mohammad Al-Momani, Minister of Government Communication, in an interview with state-funded Al-Mamlaka TV.

During the Iranian missile barrage on Tuesday, three people in Jordan were injured, and missile fragments landed in several locations, including the capital Amman. State media broadcasted images of damage in different parts of the country, with reports of a 2-meter missile fragment found in the Balqa governorate, northwest of Amman.

This marks the second time in recent months that Jordan has helped intercept Iranian missiles targeting Israel, drawing fresh warnings from Tehran. The situation remains tense as regional security concerns continue to escalate amidst ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
