Jeddah, February 7, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The second edition of the Islamic Arts Biennale 2025, held at the Western Hajj Terminal of King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, is set to feature a historic event—the complete Kiswah (cladding) of the Holy Kaaba will be displayed outside of Makkah for the first time.

The exhibit, part of the AlBidaya (The Beginning) section, will allow visitors to engage closely with the intricate craftsmanship, gold and silver embroidery, and fine silk weaving that define this sacred piece of Islamic heritage. The display offers a unique opportunity for attendees to appreciate the artistry and devotion behind the creation of the Kiswah, which is meticulously crafted each year.

Organized by the Diriyah Biennale Foundation, the initiative aims to deepen the understanding of Islamic arts and cultural legacy, taking visitors on an immersive journey through the entire process of Kiswah production—from the selection of natural silk to hand weaving, embroidery with precious metals, and final processing.

The Islamic Arts Biennale 2025 will also feature a vast collection of historical artifacts and contemporary artworks, reinforcing the event’s mission to celebrate and preserve Islamic artistic traditions.
