Jeddah Gears Up for Action-Packed Sporting Calendar in Early 2025


Jeddah, January 2, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The city of Jeddah is set to host a series of high-profile sporting events during the first third of 2025, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s commitment to enhancing its sports, economic, and tourism sectors.

The schedule kicks off with the Spanish Super Cup, marking its fifth edition in the Kingdom, from January 8 to 12. Matches featuring Real Madrid, Barcelona, Athletic Bilbao, and Real Mallorca will take place at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in a knockout format. Barcelona will face Athletic Bilbao on January 8, followed by Real Madrid versus Real Mallorca on January 9, with the final match scheduled for January 12.

Next, Jeddah will host Formula E races, with the third and fourth rounds of the 11th season taking place at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit on February 14-15, showcasing fully electric, carbon-free racing cars.

From April 18 to 20, the city will welcome the 2025 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix stc Formula 1 for the fifth consecutive year. Held at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, this event is a centerpiece of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, promoting the Kingdom as a global destination for living and tourism while improving quality of life.

In addition, Jeddah will host the E1 Electric Boat Racing on January 24-25, returning after last year’s thrilling competition, and the Extreme E electric off-road race, showcasing the impact of climate change and innovative sustainable technologies.

The city will also host matches of the Saudi national football team in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, along with a variety of other global events to be announced by the Ministry of Sport.

These events reflect Saudi Arabia’s ambition to solidify its position as a global hub for sports and tourism while promoting sustainability and innovation across all sectors.
