KAHF Launches Floating Medical Clinics in Bangladesh to Serve Over 3 Million People

Riyadh – April 11, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The King Abdullah Humanitarian Foundation (KAHF) has officially launched the King Abdullah Mobile Clinic Project in Bangladesh, part of a broader regional initiative aimed at expanding access to critical healthcare services in underserved areas of Asia.

The Bangladesh program introduces five floating medical clinics designed to serve remote riverine communities, where access to traditional healthcare infrastructure remains limited. These mobile units will deliver a wide array of services including ophthalmology, dentistry, diagnostic testing, minor surgery, laboratory analysis, pharmacy services, and radiology. In addition, each clinic will offer public health awareness and education programs, operated by professional medical teams and trained volunteers.

According to KAHF, the floating clinics in Bangladesh are expected to benefit more than three million people over the next five years, marking a significant step in the Foundation’s mission to provide sustainable and accessible healthcare solutions across the region.

This project builds on KAHF’s mobile medical clinic program, which currently serves over 1.1 million beneficiaries annually across seven countries: Afghanistan, Yemen, India, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Bangladesh.

By launching floating clinics tailored to local geographic and logistical challenges, KAHF reaffirms its commitment to reaching marginalized communities with essential medical care and promoting healthcare equity across Asia. The initiative also aligns with Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian priorities and ongoing contributions to global public health.
