King Salman Chairs Saudi Cabinet Session, Addressing Key Domestic and International Developments

Riyadh, November 19 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the weekly Cabinet session in Riyadh today, where senior officials reviewed critical domestic and international matters. The Cabinet highlighted Saudi Arabia's ongoing efforts to strengthen diplomatic ties and its commitment to addressing global challenges.


Key Diplomatic Developments


The Cabinet discussed the outcomes of recent high-level discussions, including Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s phone calls with Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron. It also reviewed the results of bilateral and multilateral talks by senior Saudi officials aimed at enhancing cooperation in various sectors.


The Cabinet praised the achievements of the second Saudi-French Ministerial Committee meeting, which focused on cultural, tourism, and economic partnerships between AlUla and Paris, further cementing the unique ties between the two nations.


Additionally, it commended the progress made during the Saudi-India Strategic Partnership Council’s Ministerial Committee meeting, particularly in areas of economic development and international security cooperation.


Regional and International Affairs


The Cabinet expressed grave concern over the ongoing violence in Palestinian territories, condemning the targeting of civilians and humanitarian agencies by Israeli forces. It called on the international community to take action against continued aggression and extremist statements regarding sovereignty over the West Bank and settlement expansion, citing these actions as threats to peace and stability.


Domestic Achievements


Domestically, the Cabinet acknowledged the significant outcomes of the Riyadh Economic Forum and the Cityscape Global 2024 exhibition. The exhibition, which concluded with over SAR230 billion in transactions and attracted 172,000 visitors, was praised for its alignment with national goals and contributions to the Kingdom's real estate sector.


The Cabinet also highlighted the upcoming Saudi Green Initiative Forum on December 3-4, emphasizing its role in fostering sustainability. Achievements under the initiative include the planting of 95 million trees, the translocation of 1,660 endangered animals, and the expansion of renewable energy capacity to over four gigawatts.


Decisions and Agreements


Among the Cabinet’s decisions were approvals and agreements focused on strengthening international partnerships and regulatory frameworks:

  1. Organizational arrangements for the Presidency for Religious Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques.

  2. Establishment of the Saudi-Egyptian Supreme Coordination Council.

  3. A headquarters agreement with the International Camel Organization.

  4. Cooperation agreements with France on critical minerals, Romania on logistics, and Benin on direct investment.

  5. A memorandum of understanding on accounting and auditing between Saudi Arabia and Kyrgyzstan.


Global Health Initiatives


The Cabinet commended the outcomes of the Jeddah Declaration, issued during the Fourth High-Level Ministerial Meeting on Antimicrobial Resistance, which called for innovative solutions to global health challenges.


Saudi Arabia’s leadership in fostering economic growth, environmental sustainability, and international cooperation was underscored throughout the session, reflecting its ongoing commitment to achieving Vision 2030 goals.
