Kuwait Temporarily Suspends E-Visa System for Citizens of 53 Countries
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 12 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Kuwait has announced the temporary suspension of its e-visa system, affecting citizens of 53 countries. Despite the halt, travelers from these nations will still be able to obtain a tourist visa upon arrival, according to reports in local media.
The Ministry of Interior stated that the move aims to modernize and enhance the e-visa platform and improve travel services for international visitors.
Citizens eligible for visa-on-arrival must meet the following requirements:
A passport valid for at least six months from the date of departure from Kuwait
A valid return ticket or confirmed onward travel
A residential address in Kuwait
Payment of a KD3 ($10) visa fee
The temporary suspension comes as part of Kuwait’s broader efforts to upgrade its travel procedures and ensure a seamless experience for visitors.
Countries Eligible for Visa-On-Arrival
The affected nations include key tourism and business partners such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Japan, and Australia, among others. The full list encompasses 53 countries, including all European Union member states, South Korea, Turkey, and Canada.
Alternative Visa Options
Travelers can also consider obtaining a visit visa sponsored by a Kuwaiti national or a business visa, provided they meet the necessary documentation requirements.
