Riyadh, October 1, 2024 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Louis Vuitton womenswear designer Nicolas Ghesquière unveiled a vibrant and layered collection for the brand’s spring-summer lineup on Tuesday, bringing Paris Fashion Week to a close. Set against the backdrop of the iconic Louvre Museum courtyard, the show featured a playful mix of short, flouncy skirts, puffy-sleeved jackets, and robe-like overcoats, all in Ghesquière’s signature eclectic style.
The runway, designed to resemble a series of Louis Vuitton trunk facades, began by lifting into a podium, setting the tone for the visually dynamic show. Models emerged wearing waist-cinched tops, accessorized with long necklaces and loosely fastened neckties that swung as they walked. As the pace of the show quickened, the silhouettes elongated, featuring floor-sweeping overcoats and bohemian-inspired trousers.
Accessories played a key role in the collection, with models carrying handbags of varying shapes and sizes, sometimes more than one at a time, stacked like jewelry. The footwear paid homage to Louis Vuitton’s leatherworking heritage, with laid-back flats made from mismatched leather straps, and dressier heels adorned with twisted leather patches.
The show ended on a high note as Ghesquière took a bow, with LVMH Chairman and CEO Bernard Arnault breaking into a grin from the front row. French First Lady Brigitte Macron, who frequently wears Louis Vuitton for official appearances, was also in attendance, blowing a kiss to the designer as a gesture of admiration.
Ghesquière's collection successfully encapsulated the house's history while pushing forward with modern, layered designs, concluding Paris Fashion Week with a flourish.
