Mike Tindall Says Prince Louis's Platinum Jubilee Funny Faces Were Thanks To A 'Sugar High'

LONDON - Zara Tindall's husband Mike Tindall remains a fantastic source of royal family news. On His podcast 'The Good, The Bad & The Rugby', Tindall defended his nephew Prince Louis, who made headlines over his behaviour in the royal box.

'The kids were the stars of the show', Tindall said. 'Louis, he gets - he was just wanting to have fun. And my two are always mischievous, so it was trying to keep a lid on'. Tindall's daughters Lena,3, and Mia, 8, were also spotted getting rowdy in the royal box watching the Platinum Jubilee pageant, and his 1 - year - old son, Lucas, made an appearance at the very end.

Tindall went on to explain the source of the royal kids' behavior: 'There are a lot of sweet our back though, so they had complete sugar highs'. Turns out we know now what was in the goodie bags that some of the kids could be spotted holding: candy.

Yet, ultimately, as a dad, he says it was going to be hard no matter what. 'It's tough for them, they're all young, it's asking them to sit there from two til five, it's a long time', he said. 'So as any parent knows, you just do whatever needs to be done'.

The majority of the Queen's great - grandchildren made an appearance during Platinum Jubilee weekend, yet it was 4 - year - old Prince Louis who stole the show - first on the Buckingham Palace balcony during Trooping the Colour, and then in the royal box during the Platinum Jubilee pageant. In their message of thanks following the Jubilee weekend Prince William and Kate Middleton even joked about their youngest son's behavior, writing, 'We all had an incredible time, especially Louis...' adding the peering eyes emoji, and signing it 'W & C', for William and Catherine.
