Mother and 2-Year-Old Daughter Die Following Car-Ramming Attack in Munich

MUNICH, February 14, 2025 (SAUDI ARABIA BREAKING NEWS) – A 2-year-old girl and her mother have succumbed to their injuries two days after a car-ramming attack at a labor union demonstration in Munich, German police confirmed on Saturday.

The attack, which occurred on Thursday, left 39 people injured, with authorities initially reporting that two victims were in critical condition. On Saturday, Bavaria’s state criminal police office announced that the young girl and her 37-year-old mother, a Munich resident, had died, according to German news agency dpa.

The suspect, a 24-year-old Afghan man, was arrested at the scene. Prosecutors said Friday that he appeared to have had an Islamic extremist motive, though no evidence links him to any radical network.

This attack marks the fifth such incident involving immigrants in Germany in the past nine months, intensifying debates on migration policies ahead of Germany’s national election on February 23.

Chancellor Olaf Scholz visited the site of the deadly attack on Saturday, laying a white rose at an improvised memorial in tribute to the victims.

As investigations continue, German authorities are working to assess security measures to prevent future extremist attacks and ensure public safety.
