Riyadh, April 21 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather advisory warning of moderate to heavy rainfall across several regions of the Kingdom, accompanied by hail and dust-stirring winds, which may reduce visibility and impact travel conditions.
According to the NCM, rainfall is expected in parts of Riyadh, Qassim, Hail, Madinah, Makkah, Al-Baha, Aseer, Jazan, Najran, and the Eastern Region. The weather system is likely to bring periods of thunder activity, with isolated hailstorms and gusty winds that may cause blowing dust and sand.
Citizens and residents are urged to exercise caution, especially in low-lying areas and near wadis, and to follow safety instructions issued by local authorities and civil defense teams.
The NCM also provided updated marine forecasts for both the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf:
Over the Red Sea, northwesterly to northerly winds will dominate the northern and central parts at speeds of 12–32 km/h, while southerly to southeasterly winds in the southern part will reach 12–48 km/h. Sea waves are expected to range between 0.5 to 2 meters, and conditions will be relatively calm overall.
In the Arabian Gulf, southerly to southeasterly winds in the northern and central sectors may reach speeds of 10–45 km/h, while the southern sector will experience northwesterly to southwesterly winds at 10–22 km/h. Sea conditions are forecast to range from calm to choppy, with waves potentially exceeding 2 meters in exposed areas.
The meteorological authority continues to monitor developments and will provide timely updates. Travelers and seafarers are advised to check the latest bulletins and adjust plans accordingly.
