Over 19 Million Worshipers Visit Quba Mosque in 2024 as Major Expansion Underway

Riyadh, October 29, 2024 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The Madinah Region Development Authority announced that more than 19 million worshipers have prayed at the Quba Mosque in Madinah since the beginning of 2024. The mosque, cherished for its unique spiritual experience, continues to enhance visitor experience through an extensive service infrastructure.
Quba Mosque is currently surrounded by upgraded courtyards covering over 14,000 square meters, providing visitors with a comfortable and accessible environment. To support older worshipers and those with disabilities, continuous transportation services are available with six dedicated vehicles. The mosque is fitted with 8,000 square meters of new carpeting and Zamzam water facilities with a storage capacity of 98,000 liters. Additionally, over 1,500 lighting units have been installed to enrich the mosque’s visual ambience.
The mosque is undergoing the largest expansion in its history, as part of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud’s project to expand Quba Mosque and develop its surrounding area. This expansion will increase the mosque’s capacity to approximately 66,000 worshipers, extending over a total area of 50,000 square meters—ten times its current size.
This ambitious project not only aims to accommodate more worshipers but also to further elevate the Quba Mosque’s role as a key spiritual destination, aligning with the Kingdom’s efforts to enhance religious experiences for visitors from around the world.
