London, April 1 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Prince Harry on Tuesday praised the progress of his sustainable travel initiative, Travalyst, as media coverage continued to focus on an ongoing dispute involving the head of his African charity, Sentebale.
The Duke of Sussex, the younger son of King Charles III, delivered a video message marking the release of Travalyst’s "Five Year Milestone Report," calling for greater urgency in addressing climate-related challenges within the tourism industry.
“These realities leave us with a choice – find practical solutions to climate change, or accept the massive financial and human losses that it’s causing,” said Prince Harry, 40. “We’re bringing sustainable solutions to the mainstream, providing travellers with clear information that helps them make better and more informed choices.”
Founded in 2019, Travalyst is a non-profit initiative supported by major industry partners including Google, Booking.com, TripAdvisor, and Expedia. Its mission is to promote sustainable tourism by helping travelers reduce their carbon footprint, avoid over-tourism, and support local economies.
“I wanted to harness travel’s power and potential to help create a more resilient world, and I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished,” Harry added.
However, the attention surrounding Travalyst’s report has been partly overshadowed by a public disagreement with Sentebale’s chair, Sophie Chandauka. Sentebale, which Harry co-founded in honor of his late mother, Princess Diana, supports youth affected by HIV and AIDS in Lesotho and Botswana.
Chandauka has publicly accused Prince Harry and other trustees of “harassment and bullying at scale” following their resignation from the charity’s board—allegations which the former trustees have strongly denied.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex continue to draw international media attention, from their estrangement from the British royal family to the content they have developed for Netflix.
