Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah Welcomes Over 14 million Worshippers in First Half of Ramadan — SPA

Riyadh, March 19 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque reported that more than 14 million worshippers visited the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah during the first half of Ramadan 1446 AH, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
In its latest statistical report, the authority revealed that 1,217,143 visitors performed greetings upon the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his two companions. Additionally, 223,742 prayer permits for men and 155,630 for women were issued to pray in the Holy Rawdah.
The report detailed extensive services provided to visitors, including the distribution of over 4.5 million Iftar meals and the consumption of 3,650 tons of Zamzam water. More than 81,000 liters of disinfectants and sanitizers were used for cleaning and hygiene purposes, and 422 Zamzam water samples underwent testing and analysis.
Visitor engagement activities included more than 18,000 visitors to the exhibits and museums and over 51,000 beneficiaries of library services. Scholarly lessons attracted around 84,000 attendees.
The authority also provided accessibility services, assisting over 250,000 visitors with wheelchair transport, offering 50,000 chairs for the elderly, and loaning mobility carts to over 20,000 visitors. The parking occupancy rate at the mosque reached 95%.
Guidance services supported 47,761 visitors with spatial orientation, 45,000 with religious guidance, and 22,000 with multilingual communication assistance. The occupancy rate of prayer halls reached 93% inside the mosque, over 80% in external courtyards, and 33% on the mosque’s roof.
A total of 22,589 volunteers contributed to assisting visitors, while the authority distributed 600,000 gifts. SPA also reported that over 50 media reports documented the authority’s ongoing efforts.
