PublisHer Honours Women Leaders in Publishing at Bologna Book Fair

Bologna, April 3 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – PublisHer, the international network founded by Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi to support women in the publishing sector, honoured three influential female leaders during the second edition of the PublisHer Excellence Awards, held on the sidelines of the 62nd Bologna Children’s Book Fair.
The awards recognised exceptional contributions to innovation, leadership, and diversity in global publishing. In her remarks at the ceremony, Sheikha Bodour highlighted the significance of increasing women’s representation in an industry historically dominated by men.
“Tonight, we celebrate their achievements and what they represent in terms of hope for a brighter future for women in global publishing,” she said.
Dalia Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim received the Lifetime Achievement Award for her distinguished career and her contributions to the Arab publishing industry. She was commended for breaking societal and professional barriers and inspiring generations of women across the region.
Humairaa Dudhwala was presented with the Emerging Leader Award, in recognition of her early leadership and commitment to empowering women publishers at the start of their careers.
Hana Hamzeh received the Innovation Award for her pioneering work in introducing creative and strategic solutions that enable publishers to adapt to the evolving global market.
The awards reflect PublisHer’s ongoing mission to promote diversity, build global support networks, and create professional opportunities for women in publishing.
The ceremony was part of a broader four-day programme in Bologna, where PublisHer launched its first international lounge. The initiative hosted panel discussions, workshops, and networking events focused on mentorship, leadership, entrepreneurship, and innovation in publishing.
Participants engaged with global industry leaders and explored pathways to shape a more inclusive, dynamic future for the publishing sector.
