Riyadh, October 2, 2024 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani described the ongoing crisis in the Middle East as “collective genocide,” criticizing Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip during a speech at the Asia Cooperation Dialogue summit in Doha on Thursday. The Emir warned of the severe consequences of what he described as Israel's "impunity" and its ongoing military operations in the region.

“It has become crystal clear that what is happening is genocide, in addition to turning the Gaza Strip into an area unfit for human habitation, in preparation for displacement,” Sheikh Tamim stated. He also condemned Israeli airstrikes and military operations against Lebanon, referring to recent strikes on the "brotherly Lebanese Republic."

Israel, which launched an assault on Gaza a year ago following attacks by Hamas militants that killed 1,200 Israelis and led to the capture of more than 250 hostages, strongly denies accusations of genocide. According to health authorities in Gaza, more than 41,500 Gazans have been killed during the conflict.

The crisis has expanded into Lebanon, where Israel has launched a ground incursion against Hezbollah, the Iran-backed Lebanese movement, which has been firing rockets into Israel in support of the Palestinian cause. Sheikh Tamim's remarks underscore the deepening tensions in the region as both sides face increasing international scrutiny.
