RAMADAN 2023: UAE Moon Sighting Committee Is Set To Met On Tuesday, March 21




PARIS, France - The UAE moon-sighting committee is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, March 21 (29th Sa'ban), following the Maghreb prayer at the Anu Dhabi Judicial Department, to determine the commencement of Ramadan 2023.


Presided over by Abdullah Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, Minister of Justice, the meeting will be attended by several high-ranking officials.


The Shariah courts across the country will monitor and notify the committee of any sighting, while the Lunar Calendar Committee at the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department will continue to gather evidence and report its findings to the Moon-Sighting Committee.


Ramadan is a significant month in the Islamic calendar, observed by millions of Muslims around the world with fasting, prayer, and charitable acts.


Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic lunar calendar. With 12 months and either 354 or 355 days in the Islamic year the corresponding date is slightly different each year.


Ramadan 2023 will only officially begin when a moon - sighting committee confirms it has seen the crescent moon.
