Record Turnout at Prophet’s Mosque: Over 5.8 Million Worshippers in One Week




In a remarkable display of religious fervor, the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, Saudi Arabia, witnessed an astounding influx of worshippers between Jumada I 5 and 12 (November 19-26). The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Prophet's Mosque, responsible for overseeing the holy site, reported a staggering 5,845,458 worshippers during this period.


The authority took meticulous measures to ensure the smooth facilitation of the massive congregation. Among its notable efforts, 525,559 visitors were ushered to the revered resting place of Prophet Mohammed, and 237,040 worshippers found solace in prayers at Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifah.

Inclusivity and accessibility were also prioritized, with designated areas for the elderly and people with special needs receiving 11,826 visitors.


Communication services, available in various languages, reached 59,435 individuals of different nationalities. The mosque's library attracted 12,545 readers, while 3,529 people explored exhibitions and museums.


Modern amenities played a crucial role in ensuring a seamless experience, with 11,826 people utilizing phone services and other communication channels. Moreover, locative guidance services were employed by 69,420 individuals, and transportation services benefited 57,067 people.


In a spirit of generosity, the General Authority distributed over 150,000 bottles of Zamzam water, provided 91,161 Iftar meals, and gifted 40,373 items to worshippers and visitors alike.


This record-breaking turnout underscores the enduring significance of the Prophet’s Mosque as a place of spiritual gathering and cultural exchange, emphasizing the commitment of the authorities to enhance the experience for all worshippers, regardless of background or ability.
