Resin Art Gains Momentum in Saudi Arabia, Showcasing Madinah’s Culture

MADINAH, Dec. 23 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Resin art, a creative technique involving liquid resin to craft three-dimensional objects or glossy coatings, has seen a surge in popularity, blending artistic innovation with functionality. Resin, when combined with a hardener, solidifies into a durable, glass-like finish, making it a favored medium for diverse applications.

Elyan Al-Aufi, a Saudi artist from Madinah and a graduate of Taibah University’s visual arts program, has been at the forefront of resin art in the Kingdom. Her work reflects the cultural essence of Madinah, incorporating elements such as the Madani script, local roses, mint, and basil. Her creations are sought after by visitors to Madinah and the Prophet's Mosque, often serving as meaningful souvenirs.

Resin art is celebrated for its versatility, used to craft accessories like necklaces, rings, and earrings using special molds. It is also pivotal in creating unique paintings through resin-pouring techniques, yielding one-of-a-kind designs. Beyond art, resin is incorporated into household items such as trays and tables, often enhanced with natural elements like flowers and wood.

The medium is also used for preservation, encapsulating memorabilia like leaves or photographs in its clear, glossy surface. Resin art captivates with its ability to blend colors, dyes, and natural elements like seashells and flowers, resulting in creations that are both visually striking and long-lasting.

This growing art form highlights the creative ingenuity of Saudi artists while preserving cultural heritage through modern mediums. Elyan Al-Aufi’s contributions exemplify the innovative spirit driving Saudi Arabia’s flourishing art scene under Vision 2030.
