Riyadh, February 27, 2025 – Riyadh Art, in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Saudi Arabia, has completed the installation of a striking new sculpture series by renowned Italian artist Davide Rivalta at Al-Nafal Park in the Diplomatic Quarter. This initiative is part of Riyadh Art’s mission to enhance public spaces with thought-provoking artistic expressions that celebrate the relationship between humanity and nature.

"Echoes of Land": Art in Harmony with Nature

Under the theme "Echoes of Land," Rivalta’s sculptures seamlessly blend into the desert landscape and serene oasis-like atmosphere of Al-Nafal Park, creating a dialogue between urban development and nature. The collection features a cheetah, lion, lioness, and buffalo, positioned in a way that invites visitors to reflect on their presence and significance.

These sculptures pay homage to the natural heritage of the Arabian Peninsula, particularly the cheetah, which once roamed the region. The installation serves as a symbolic reminder of the delicate balance between wildlife conservation and modern urban expansion.

A Vision for Public Art in Riyadh

Omar AlBraik, Senior Director of Public Art at the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC), emphasized the impact of this collaboration, stating:"Art is not merely an aesthetic element; it is a powerful force capable of reshaping public spaces, sparking conversations, and strengthening the profound connection between individuals and their surroundings in unexpected ways."

AlBraik highlighted that hosting Rivalta’s works in Riyadh contributes to the city’s growing artistic landscape, opening new avenues for creativity and ensuring that diverse artistic expressions reach a wide audience.

Riyadh Art: Transforming the City into an Open-Air Gallery

The installation at Al-Nafal Park is a continuation of Riyadh Art’s vision to establish the city as a dynamic open-air gallery, enriching the visual and cultural experience of residents and visitors.

Since its launch in 2019, Riyadh Art has:

  • Installed over 550 public artworks

  • Engaged 500 local and international artists

  • Organized 6,500 community engagement activities

  • Attracted millions of visitors

With an ambitious goal of expanding its collection to over 1,000 works, Riyadh Art is shaping the city’s cultural identity in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030, positioning Riyadh as a global hub for artistic innovation and creativity.
