Saudi Arabia and Bahrain Sign MoU to Boost Sports Cooperation

Paris, France – In a significant step toward strengthening sports collaboration, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC), signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, on Sunday in Paris.

The MoU aims to enhance cooperation between the Saudi Ministry of Sport and the Bahraini General Sports Authority across various domains within the sports sector. Key areas of focus include sports investment and marketing, facility management, talent development, and the organization of sports events. The agreement also emphasizes the promotion of community sports, women’s sports, Paralympic sports, and combat sports, alongside joint efforts in sports medicine and anti-doping.

This collaboration aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, as the Ministry of Sport seeks to explore new opportunities for cooperation with both local and international partners to further develop the sports sector.
