Saudi Arabia and Kuwait Strengthen Cultural Cooperation with New MoU


Riyadh, October 2, 2024 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Minister of Culture Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud and Kuwait’s Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman bin Bedah Al-Mutairi met during the Riyadh International Book Fair, emphasizing the deep-rooted relations between the two nations and the importance of cultural collaboration.


During the meeting, both ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in various cultural fields under the umbrella of the Saudi-Kuwaiti Coordination Council. The agreement covers heritage, architecture, design, visual arts, theater, performing arts, literature, publishing, fashion, culinary arts, and film. It also involves the exchange of expertise on cultural systems, policies, and participation in festivals and events.


As members of UNESCO, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait will jointly contribute to strategic cultural projects and coordinate agreements across various sectors. The MoU also aims to establish artistic residency programs and implement heritage preservation initiatives.


This MoU aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 and aims to promote international cultural exchange. The Kuwaiti Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Sabah Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, attended the signing, reinforcing the strong historical ties between the two nations.


The MoU marks a significant step toward deepening bilateral relations and fostering collaboration in the cultural sphere, supporting the shared goals of both countries.
