Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Passports Clarifies Final Exit Visa Requirements
Riyadh, January 9, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The General Directorate of Passports has issued guidelines regarding the issuance of final exit visas for residents, emphasizing the importance of the validity of a resident’s ID in the process.
Key Requirements for Final Exit Visas
Minimum Validity: A resident’s ID must be valid for at least 30 days to request a final exit visa. If the ID has less than 30 days of validity, it must be renewed before proceeding with the visa issuance.
30 to 60 Days Validity: If the ID is valid for more than 30 days but less than 60 days, a final exit visa can be issued, with the visa’s duration matching the remaining validity of the resident’s ID.
60 Days or More Validity: When the ID is valid for 60 days or more, a final exit visa can be issued; however, the visa’s duration will be capped at 60 days.
Issuance Process and No Fees
Employers and heads of households are advised that final exit visas for sponsored individuals and family members can be issued through the Ministry of Interior’s electronic platforms Absher and Muqeem Portal. The service is free of charge and incurs no additional fees.
The directive serves as a reminder to ensure the timely renewal of resident IDs to facilitate a smooth exit visa process, supporting the Kingdom’s efforts to enhance efficiency and convenience in its residency and visa systems.
