Riyadh, February 25, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, chaired the Cabinet session held today in Riyadh, where ministers reviewed recent regional and international developments and issued several strategic decisions.



Saudi Arabia's Commitment to Global Diplomacy and Security



The Cabinet reviewed discussions held by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, with leaders of several brotherly and friendly nations, focusing on regional and international issues.


Ministers expressed gratitude to Russian President Vladimir Putin for his positive remarks during a phone call with HRH the Crown Prince, where he commended Saudi Arabia’s role in hosting successful talks between Russia and the United States. The Cabinet reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to global peace and security, emphasizing that dialogue remains essential in resolving international crises.



Saudi Arabia's Leadership in Multilateral Engagements



Following the session, Dr. Essam bin Saad bin Saeed, Minister of State, Cabinet Member, and Acting Minister of Media, stated that the Cabinet reviewed Saudi Arabia’s participation in recent international forums, reinforcing its role in:


  • Promoting sustainable development and global prosperity

  • Supporting multilateral efforts to address shared global challenges

  • Enhancing international economic cooperation


The Cabinet also highlighted the significance of the Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum, emphasizing its role in coordinating global efforts and developing innovative solutions for humanitarian response amid rising global disasters and crises.



Economic and Trade Advancements



The Cabinet commended the success of the first annual AlUla Conference for Emerging Market Economies, co-organized with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which promotes global economic cooperation and long-term strategic growth.


Additionally, Saudi Arabia’s presidency of the World Trade Organization (WTO) General Council for 2025-2026 was deemed a significant milestone, affirming the Kingdom’s leadership in fostering international trade and economic partnerships.

Strengthening Saudi Arabia’s Media and Investment Ecosystem

The Cabinet noted the broad international participation in the fourth Saudi Media Forum in Riyadh, which introduced:


  • New programs to enhance media incubators and accelerators

  • Initiatives supporting financial and regulatory transformation in the media industry

  • Talent development programs and adoption of modern technologies in media production



Key Decisions and Agreements



The Cabinet approved a series of strategic agreements and partnerships, including:

  1. Relocating the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) headquarters to Riyadh.

  2. Signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the King Fahad National Library and the National Library of Poland.

  3. Strengthening security cooperation with Tanzania in crime control, civil defense, and civil protection.

  4. Enhancing collaboration in mineral resources between Saudi Arabia and Brazil.

  5. Promoting direct investment between Saudi Arabia and Côte d'Ivoire.

  6. Signing an MoU between Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Investment and Bahrain’s Economic Development Board to boost investment ties.

  7. Approving a higher education and scientific research MoU between Saudi Arabia and the United States.

  8. Signing an air transport services agreement with the Republic of Guinea.

  9. Strengthening cooperation in auditing and professional standards between Saudi Arabia and Mexico.



These decisions reflect Saudi Arabia’s commitment to economic diversification, international trade expansion, and diplomatic collaboration, reinforcing its Vision 2030 objectives.
