Riyadh, October 8, 2024 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired a Cabinet session today in Riyadh. At the outset of the meeting, the Crown Prince provided reassurance on the health of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, thanking those who expressed concern and offering prayers for his swift recovery.


During the session, Prince Mohammed briefed the Cabinet on the message sent by King Salman to the President of Mexico, which discussed enhancing Saudi-Mexican relations across various sectors. The Cabinet also expressed gratitude for King Salman’s patronage of the 4th Global Cybersecurity Forum and applauded the Crown Prince’s initiatives focused on child protection in cyberspace and empowering women in cybersecurity, aligning with the Kingdom’s commitment to investing in people for sustainable growth.


Key topics covered in the Cabinet meeting included:

  • Regional and International Affairs: The Cabinet reviewed recent developments and reiterated support for Palestinian and Lebanese people, echoing statements from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on regional stability. It also emphasized the importance of international collaboration to address regional security challenges.

  • Anti-Terrorism Efforts: The Cabinet welcomed the results of the Global Coalition to Defeat Daesh/ISIS ministerial meeting and reinforced the Kingdom’s opposition to extremism and terrorism, stressing its commitment to preventing the financing of terrorist activities.

  • Global Economic Collaboration: The Cabinet highlighted Saudi Arabia’s contributions to G20 discussions on balancing economic growth with energy security and climate change efforts. It emphasized the Kingdom's leadership in circular carbon economy technologies and clean energy production.

  • Justice and Judicial Cooperation: The Cabinet hailed the Kingdom’s successful bid to host the 2026 International Association of Prosecutors Conference, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s commitment to international judicial collaboration.


Additionally, the Cabinet approved several resolutions:

  1. Digital Development Partnership: Authorized an agreement between the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

  2. Energy Cooperation with Zambia: Authorized the signing of an MoU in the field of energy.

  3. Cultural Collaboration with Thailand: Authorized a draft cooperation agreement with the Siam Society Under Royal Patronage.

  4. General Cooperation with Slovenia: Authorized a draft agreement with the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

  5. Standardization with Malaysia: Authorized an MoU with the Malaysian Department of Standards.

  6. Legal Cooperation with Singapore: Authorized an MoU for cooperation with the Singaporean Ministry of Law.

  7. World Energy Council Event: Approved organizing the World Energy Council Executive Assembly and Conference in Saudi Arabia.

  8. Labor Court Procedures: Extended the provision requiring labor disputes to be submitted to the Labor Office for mediation before reaching court.


The Cabinet’s resolutions highlight Saudi Arabia’s active role in global economic, legal, and environmental cooperation as part of its Vision 2030 strategy for a diversified and sustainable future.
