Riyadh, September 11, 2024 – His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, received China's Premier Li Qiang at the Royal Court in Riyadh today. The official reception ceremony, which included the playing of the national anthems of both Saudi Arabia and China, marked the beginning of the Chinese premier's visit aimed at enhancing bilateral relations.


The Crown Prince and Premier Li Qiang chaired the Fourth Meeting of the High-Level Saudi-Chinese Joint Committee, where they held extensive discussions on political, security, and economic cooperation between the two nations. The talks covered key areas such as trade opportunities, energy, investment, culture, and technology. Regional and international developments were also addressed, with both leaders underscoring their nations' ongoing efforts to contribute to stability and development in the region.


At the conclusion of the meeting, HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Premier Li Qiang signed the minutes of the Fourth Meeting of the High-Level Saudi-Chinese Joint Committee, cementing further cooperation between the two countries.


Following the talks, the Crown Prince hosted an official luncheon in honor of the Chinese premier.


The meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials from both Saudi Arabia and China. The Saudi delegation included Minister of National Guard Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, and Minister of State and National Security Advisor Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, among others.


Representing China were Minister of Industry and Information Technology Jin Zhuanglong, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao, Chinese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Chang Hua, and several other key officials.


The meeting signals a continued strengthening of the strategic partnership between Saudi Arabia and China, with a focus on mutual growth and cooperation across multiple sectors.
