Saudi Film Commission Highlights Local Talent at Red Sea International Film Festival 2024

Jeddah, December 5, 2024 – The Saudi Film Commission is set to play a prominent role in the fourth edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival, taking place in Jeddah from December 5 to 14. In a press release today, the commission emphasized its dedication to supporting Saudi Arabia's cinematic growth by empowering local talent and forging partnerships with international film institutions.

A Focus on Empowerment and Global Collaboration

The commission will host a dedicated pavilion at the festival's Red Sea Souk (December 7–11), providing attendees with insights into its initiatives that aim to position Saudi Arabia as a global hub for filmmaking. The pavilion will highlight strategic programs such as the "Daw" initiative and the "Cash Rebate Program," both of which have been instrumental in fostering local talent and attracting international productions to the Kingdom.

One of the highlights of the commission’s participation will be the showcase of four supported films: Saifi, Farasan Island, Me and My Driver, and Hobal. These works, developed through the commission’s funding programs, reflect its commitment to enabling Saudi creators and extending the reach of Saudi films to both local and international audiences.

Red Sea Festival: A Celebration of Cinema

The Red Sea International Film Festival has established itself as a pioneering platform in the Kingdom, presenting a rich blend of local and global cinematic works. This year’s event celebrates creativity across diverse genres and cultures, offering prestigious awards in numerous categories.
