Saudi Foreign Minister Participates in OIC Extraordinary Meeting in Jeddah

Jeddah, March 8, 2025 – Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah participated on Friday in the Extraordinary Meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held in Jeddah.
The ministerial meeting was convened at the joint request of Islamic nations to reinforce unity across the Islamic world and intensify diplomatic efforts to end the Israeli occupation and aggression in the Palestinian territories and Syria.
Discussions also focused on violations threatening regional security and stability.
Saudi Arabia Calls for Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza
During the meeting, Prince Faisal stressed the urgent need for a sustained and enforceable ceasefire in Gaza and called for Israel’s adherence to international law. He rejected any attempts to forcibly displace the Palestinian people and cautioned against unilateral measures that disregard the legitimate aspirations of Palestinians for self-determination.
The Saudi foreign minister underscored the Kingdom’s ongoing diplomatic efforts in partnership with the "Global Alliance for Implementation of the Two-State Solution", reaffirming that a just and lasting resolution to the conflict is essential for regional and global stability.
Saudi Arabia Welcomes Syria’s Return to OIC
Prince Faisal also welcomed Syria’s reinstatement into the OIC, expressing confidence that Damascus would actively contribute to strengthening cooperation among Islamic nations and enhancing the organization’s effectiveness.
The OIC meeting highlighted the collective resolve of Islamic nations to address the ongoing crises, with Saudi Arabia playing a pivotal role in advocating for regional peace, stability, and justice for the Palestinian people.
