Saudi Museums Commission Launches "Telling Tomorrow’s Story" Campaign

Riyadh, November 19 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The Museums Commission has announced the launch of its new campaign, “Telling Tomorrow’s Story,” aimed at raising awareness about the critical role of museums in preserving Saudi Arabia’s history and cultural heritage, while also fostering innovation and creative expression for future generations.

The campaign’s motto embodies the Commission’s vision of positioning museums as spaces where the past is safeguarded, and the future is shaped through innovative storytelling and preservation efforts. Highlighting the dual mission of honoring cultural traditions and inspiring forward-thinking creativity, the campaign underscores the importance of museums in strengthening national identity.

Showcasing Saudi Arabia’s Museums

The campaign will spotlight key museums and cultural centers under the Museums Commission’s authority, including:

  • The National Museum and Al-Masmak Palace Museum in Riyadh

  • Saudi Arabia Museum of Contemporary Art at Jax (SAMoCA@Jax)

  • Diriyah Art Futures (DAF) in Riyadh

  • Tariq Abdulhakim Museum in Jeddah

It also introduces upcoming museums under development, such as the Black Gold Museum in Riyadh and the Red Sea Museum in Jeddah, which promise to enrich Saudi Arabia’s cultural landscape further.

Regional Museums Initiative: “Our Saudi Story”

As part of its commitment to preserving Saudi heritage, the Commission announced the development of museums in 11 regions, including Al-Qassim, Aseer, Tabuk, Najran, Makkah, and Jazan. Under the motto “Our Saudi Story,” these regional museums will celebrate the unique cultural elements that define Saudi history, weaving together a diverse and inclusive narrative of the Kingdom’s heritage.

The regional museums will host permanent collections, temporary exhibitions, educational programs, and cultural events, transforming them into dynamic spaces for knowledge-sharing and community engagement.

Sustainability and Innovation

The “Telling Tomorrow’s Story” campaign reflects the Museums Commission’s dedication to sustainability, integrating environmentally friendly practices into the design and operation of its museums. By documenting and preserving cultural treasures, the Commission ensures these legacies are passed down to future generations.
