AlUla, February 9, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi equestrian Muhannad Al-Salmi delivered a stellar performance at the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Endurance Cup, securing first place in Level 2 of the prestigious international competition.


The event, held at AlFursan Equestrian Village in AlUla, featured 200 elite riders from around the world competing over a grueling 120-kilometer endurance course. With a total prize pool of SAR15 million, the race stands as one of the most significant endurance competitions in the world.


A Hard-Fought Victory for Saudi Arabia


Muhannad Al-Salmi claimed victory with an average speed of 23.6 km/h, crossing the finish line in 13 hours, 9 minutes, and 15 seconds. He narrowly outpaced Emirati rider Abdullah Al-Amri, who finished second with a time of 13 hours, 8 minutes, and 43 seconds. Saif Al Mazrouei, also from the UAE, secured third place, clocking 13 hours, 9 minutes, and 29 seconds.


Prince Abdullah bin Fahd bin Abdullah, Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Equestrian Federation and Head of the Sports Sector at the Royal Commission for AlUla, presented the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Endurance Cup to Al-Salmi in recognition of his exceptional performance.

A Premier Event in Global Endurance Racing


The AlUla Endurance Cup has rapidly gained prominence on the international equestrian calendar, attracting world-class riders and showcasing Saudi Arabia's growing leadership in the global equestrian scene. Tomorrow, the championship continues with Level 3, featuring a 160-kilometer race that will see 100 riders competing for a SAR5 million prize pool. The competition is expected to be just as intense, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s role in hosting world-class equestrian events.
