Saudi Royal Court Adviser Visits Sharjah Holy Quran Academy, Praises Global Role in Quranic Preservation

Sharjah, April 19, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid, Adviser at the Saudi Royal Court and Imam of the Grand Mosque in Makkah, visited the Holy Quran Academy in Sharjah, where he was briefed on the institution’s global contributions to Quranic sciences, education, and preservation.
The visit, which took place as part of the agenda of the “Objectives of the Holy Quran: Between Theory and Practice” conference organized by the University of Sharjah, included the participation of His Eminence Dr. Mohammed Abdulrahman Al-Duwaini, Deputy of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, alongside a number of religious and academic officials.
Sheikh Dr. bin Humaid praised the initiative of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for establishing a pioneering institution that has become a reference point for Quranic scholarship.
During the tour, the delegation was welcomed by Dr. Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, Chairman of the Academy, who presented the institution’s strategic framework, including the Sharjah Global Electronic Qira’ah platform, active in 172 countries, its academic research programs, and the Quranic museums housing rare manuscripts and artefacts.
Visitors viewed a range of exhibits covering the evolution of Quranic script, the science of qira’at, the biographies of prominent reciters, and historical Quranic relics, including a display on the Kaaba’s covering (kiswa).
In remarks following the visit, Sheikh Dr. bin Humaid described the Academy as “a cultural and intellectual beacon,” commending its innovative approach to education and its contribution to the global dissemination of Quranic knowledge. He emphasized the importance of such institutions in preserving Islamic heritage and inspiring future generations of scholars.
