Riyadh, March 27, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The Supreme Court of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has called on all Muslims across the country to sight the crescent moon of Shawwal on the evening of Saturday, Ramadan 29, 1446 AH, corresponding to March 29, 2025.
In an official announcement issued today, the court urged anyone who sights the moon—either with the naked eye or through the use of binoculars—to report their observation to the nearest court and formally register their testimony.
The sighting of the Shawwal crescent will determine the end of the holy month of Ramadan and the beginning of Eid Al-Fitr, the Islamic festival marking the conclusion of fasting.
The Supreme Court emphasized the importance of community participation in confirming the sighting in line with Islamic tradition and called on those capable to contribute to this religious observance.
Authorities will base the official decision for Eid Al-Fitr on confirmed sightings reported to the courts and will make an announcement accordingly.
