Saudi Swimmer Zaid Al-Saraaj Sets New National Record at Dubai Open

DUBAI, February 17, 2025 (SAUDI ARABIA BREAKING NEWS) – Zaid Al-Saraaj, a rising star from Mahd Sports Academy, has set a new Saudi record in the 50-meter freestyle at the Dubai Open Swimming Championship, which concluded Sunday.
The 17-year-old swimmer clocked 23.02 seconds in the finals, breaking the previous national record of 23.35 seconds, set by Youssef Bouarish. Al-Saraaj had already impressed in the preliminaries, recording an exceptional 22.23 seconds, a milestone achievement for Saudi swimming.
His record-breaking performance underscores the rapid progress of Saudi athletes in the sport and highlights Mahd Sports Academy’s role in nurturing future champions ready to compete at continental and international levels.
