SHARJAH, March 21 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Sharjah, a leading tourist destination in the UAE, blends rich cultural heritage with modern innovation, taking on a unique charm during the holy month of Ramadan with vibrant events and spiritual ambience.

Home to more than 3,000 mosques, Sharjah showcases stunning Islamic architecture, with notable landmarks including King Faisal Mosque, Al Noor Mosque, Sharjah Mosque, and Al Taqwa Mosque. These mosques attract large numbers of worshippers for daily and Taraweeh prayers, offering spaces of tranquility accentuated by illuminated Ramadan lanterns that adorn public spaces and streets.

Throughout the emirate, markets and traditional souks become major attractions during Ramadan. Souq Al Jubail and The Central Souk welcome both local and international visitors eager to experience the rich cultural atmosphere, with exhibitions of handmade crafts and stalls offering traditional Ramadan delicacies.

Festivities extend to areas such as Aljada, where Ramadan celebrations continue until March 30, featuring performances of oud and qanun music, Arabic calligraphy displays, henna designs, and storytelling sessions. The "Darya" exhibition in the Muwaileh Commercial Area runs until April 4, showcasing projects ranging from traditional food and coffee to perfumes and clothing.

Culinary experiences remain at the heart of Sharjah’s Ramadan offerings, with iftar meals highlighting authentic Emirati dishes that reflect the country's hospitality and cultural identity. Ramadan festivals, such as the prominent "Ramadan Nights" exhibition, provide visitors with opportunities to explore local crafts and engage with the emirate’s vibrant commercial and cultural life.

Adding to the city’s attractions, the recently inaugurated Al Layyah Canal project in Khalidiya Suburb has become a centerpiece for Ramadan celebrations, featuring theatrical performances, Quranic competitions, and a bustling Ramadan market that supports youth entrepreneurs and showcases innovative projects.

Sharjah's Ramadan season exemplifies its position as a cultural hub, offering residents and visitors alike an immersive experience that celebrates tradition, hospitality, and creativity.
